Staying informed

A victim can ask to be kept informed about:

  • the progress of the investigation into the offence (except where it may jeopardise the investigation)
  • charges laid
  • any bail application made by the accused person
  • variations to the charges and the reasons for variations.

Victims should contact the police Investigating Officer for more information on these matters.

Contact the WA Police Force on (08) 9222 1111.

Keeping records

It is helpful to keep a record of the people you speak to.

For instance, most victims of crime require some further contact with the police. Keep note of your incident report number and Investigating Officer, including his/her phone number.
